Kalahari sandveld, pans, and a limestone ridge, fenced and watered for plains game and for breeding sable, roan, and nyala.
Eland, giraffe, kudu, and gemsbok range over the northern section of Botswana Conservancy, with cheetah and leopard among them. The estate covers 45,192 hectares of the Western Kalahari, 26 kilometers from the town of Ghanzi, and is among the largest private game farms in Africa.
Section A North takes in 18,192 hectares of freehold and 9,000 of leasehold, its five contiguous farms enclosed by about 110 kilometers of 2.4-meter game fence. Shallow groundwater lies in the south of the section, and pipelines and boreholes serve the sandveld in the north. The section has a headquarters and a lodge with tent sites, a dining area, and a boma.
Section B South, which adjoins Section A, holds 18,000 hectares of fenced freehold on a limestone ridge, with good water and an extensive network of roads, and plentiful game. Its breeding programs center on sable, roan, and nyala. An abattoir and cold rooms serve the working side. The homestead, with staff quarters, a pool, and social areas, has a main house that looks out over a Kalahari pan.
What makes this a great rural estate
Botswana Conservancy ranks among Africa’s largest private game farms, and its two adjoining sections, each fenced and with good water, hold Kalahari game in abundance.
